Submission Guidelines

Submission Guidelines

Approved by Editorial Committee: May. 19, 2023.

 

1. Cheng Kung Law Review [this journal] is a bi-annual academic law journal, issued by the Department of Law, National Cheng Kung University. The Summer issue is published in June, and the Fall issue is in December.

 

2. This journal welcomes the submission of any original manuscripts, including legal academic articles and court judgement analyses.

 

3. The submitted manuscript shall include author’s name, title, table of contents, abstract (between 300 and 500 words) and keywords (between 5 and 10 keywords). References are required, and shall be put in the end of the manuscript. If the manuscript is a translation of an article originally published not in Chinese, the submission shall include the original article as well as a certificate which proves the author has granted the translation of the original article.

 

4. The format, citations and references of the submitted manuscript shall follow the latest version of guidance released in this journal website. (URL: https://lawreview.law.ncku.edu.tw/web/index/index.jsp)

 

5. Starting from January 10, 2022, the suggested length of the submitted manuscript is within the range of 20000 to 50000 Chinese characters . This character count includes the title, keywords, table of contents, abstract, references, annotations and tabulations of the manuscript. When submitting the manuscript, the author is expected to register in the OA website of this journal (URL: https://lawreview.law.ncku.edu.tw), and upload the article file to this website. The submitted manuscript shall include no personal information of the author. Once the manuscript has been successfully submitted, the author will receive a confirmation letter.

 

6. The submitted manuscript will be sent for at least two double-blind reviews once received. The author has duties to respond to reviewers’ comments. If the submitted manuscript is withdrawn by the author after manuscript has been sent for review, the Editorial Committee will treat this manuscript as a rejected article. Once the manuscript is accepted by the Editorial Committee, the Committee will issue the author a certificate for publication.

 

7. The author is expected to abide the copyright law or any other relevant laws, and to follow academic regulations. Once a manuscript is published, responsibility for the factual accuracy of the paper rests upon its author(s). Once the submitted works are published in this journal, this journal enjoys the right to re-authorize the database in a non-exclusive way. This journal also enjoys the right to reproduce, publicly transmit, and authorize users to download and print the published article digitally when necessary. The format of the published article might be changed, if it is necessary for the database to include this article. Once the manuscript is accepted, the author shall attach a copyright authorization letter when submitting the final draft of the manuscript.

 

8. If the submitted manuscript has been submitted to other journals, books or databases, the Editorial Committee may directly reject the manuscript, and suspend the acceptance of the author's manuscripts for two years. Manuscripts that have already entered the review process of this journal, re-submit to other journals, books or databases, a request to withdraw the manuscript, the same penalty applies to the author.

 

Cheng Kung Law Review presumes that any manuscript received has not been, and will not be, submitted elsewhere at the same time. If a paper is under review or has been published or accepted elsewhere, the Cheng Kung Law Review will have the right to reject the submission.

 

9. Once the submitted manuscript is published in this journal, the author will receive one copy of this journal and 20 offprints of her/his own article.

 

10. If the author of the published paper is willing to allow readers to "Open Access" of her/his paper, this editorial board will pay the authorization fee according to the standard set by the Human Resources and Social Security Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology.

 

11. The submission of the manuscript shall follow the latest version of the submission guideline, released on the website of this journal (URL: https://lawreview.law.ncku.edu.tw/web/index/index.jsp)
